WordPress is one of the most popular publishing platforms available on the internet, especially because it comes with many features and a lot of flexibility. However, if you are a beginner, you may find all these features confusing and not so simple to figure out how to use. That is why many users find they have a lot of image problems at the beginning of their experience using WordPress. Today we will discuss them and show you the best ways to fix them.

How to upload an image in WordPress

When you upload an image to WordPress it is handled automatically by the Media uploader. For example, you can insert any image you want in a post directly from the page edit screen; all you have to do is to click on the Add Media button.

Another way to do it is to upload images directly to the Media Library. In order to insert an image into your Media Library, click on Media in the left hand menu (see image below).

Below is a quick video tutorial showing you how to upload images into your Media Library.

If you want to see all the images you have uploaded in WordPress for your website, you can go to Media and select the Library.

WordPress also allows you to create a gallery if you need to upload multiple images to a post or a page. You can even add a gallery carousel in WordPress. This will allow you to browse through any gallery without reloading the page.

How to align an image to the right or left in WordPress

You have probably noticed that some websites wrap the text of the articles around different images. This is not a complicated feature. You can do it by using the align feature of WordPress. You have the option to align the images when you upload them or before inserting them into the article.

You will notice you can choose to align images to the left or to the right of the article. If there is more text after the image, it won’t appear next to it, but instead below it. Most users want to wrap the text around their images and you can easily do it with the alignment option. Simply click on the image, and click the Edit button. You will see an advanced image editor box. Here you can choose the text to wrap around the image and even see a preview.

How to add a caption below an image

With WordPress, it is easy to add a caption for each image because it has a special caption feature. Once you upload an image, WordPress will provide the ability to add in an image title, caption, and description.

How to display images in rows or columns

WordPress is cool because it comes with a nice built-in gallery feature. This means that you can upload multiple images in a page, create a gallery, and display them in rows or columns as you prefer. Simply click the Add Media Button, Create Gallery, and select your images. Click the Insert Gallery button and you are done.

How to crop an image

Sometimes an image can be too big for your post, but that is not a problem because you can easily edit it in WordPress. Click on Media – Add New, and upload a photo. Click on the Edit link – Edit Image, and you will see an image editor which will allow you to edit the image as you want.

Conclusion

WordPress is so easy to use and intuitive that you will easily understand how to work with images and how to get the results you need for your site. Good luck!
