Google+ is a great, relatively new tool that allows broadcasting, streaming, recording and intercommunication online in lots of formats. One problem you can encounter when using Google+ for anyone that tries to keep users on their website is that your users end up outside of your blog. However, there are ways to keep the conversation on your website and we’re going to show you how.

Google+ Hangouts On Air

To get yourself started visit the link above, which will lead you to the Google+ Hangouts On Air and then click on the Start a Hangout On Air button. The pop-ups that appear will ask for details to set up the hangout; a name, a description and a few other settings to do with the time and place the hangout will occur.

When you’re done with the basics, click on Share. Clicking on the YouTube button will take you to YouTube, which is a verification step, and then click Share again. Now you have created an official hangout page which contains all the necessary details you’ll need and you’ll also find a link icon. The hangouts contain links with code.

On the hangout page there is also a links icon, which you’ll need to press to get a hangout link and embed code. It is similar to the codes used on YouTube when you want to share a video.

Cope the YouTube URL and save it.

You will need to create a post or edit an already existing one to create your hangout page. What you need to do is simply include the embed code text in the page and when you check it, you’ll see that it contains a clock counting down to the time when the hangout will be starting.

When the date arrives the hangout will go live, notifying the individuals that are invited (unless it’s a free for all, public event) that they will be able to participate.
