How many times have you been frustrated by clear Chrome cache issues? If you’ve ever worked with a stylesheet on a live website, the answer’s probably going to be A LOT. The relief to your frustration is below.
A major drawback of the Google Chrome browser is that it has a caching bug. Meaning that even after you clear the cache and cookies it still loads cached pages sometimes.
This becomes very frustrating when you are trying to change the styling of your website.
Luckily, there’s a simple solution.
A cool (and free) add-on in the Chrome Web Store called Cache Killer.
Watch the video below for a step-by-step walkthrough. Or scroll past the video if you prefer the written word (and screenshots).
Open the Google Chrome Web Store
There are two ways you can find Chrome’s Web Store.
The first option is to go to this URL: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions
If for some reason that link doesn’t work the backup plan is to Google it:
Go to your local Google site and type in type in “Google Chrome store” and find the appropriate result. At the time of this writing the result you want is in the screenshot below.

Pro Tip: You can see and manage your extensions any time by going to chrome://extensions in your chrome browser.
Find and Add the Cache Killer Extension
There are a couple of possible add-ons but I recommend picking the Cache Killer add-on by vladimirlodochkin since it has good reviews and it worked quite well.
So, type in Cache killer in the search bar

And then click on Add to Chrome

Then click on Add Extension.

The extension will be added in the upper-right corner of Google Chrome and it will be set to OFF by default.

Using The Cache Killer To Clear Chrome Cache
To start using this useful add-on, you need to click on the icon and turn it ON.
You’ll notice that it will turn green when it’s ON.
This add-on doesn’t have to be ON all the time, but I suggest that you keep it OFF until you need.
Why?
Because caching is actually a good thing because it makes websites load faster. So if you have the Cache Killer set to ON all the time websites will load slower.
So, when should you turn it on then? The answer is quite simple.
If you are editing pages and you think that the page you’re currently visiting is having a cache-related issue, turn the Cache Killer ON and refresh the page.
Every time you refresh the page, this add-on will clear the cache before the page loads.
You can see that the button turns green when it’s ON so it’s easily noticeable.
As you can see, this extension is really easy to set-up and it may prove to be very useful when battling those pesky cache issues which turn up pretty frequently in Google chrome.

In Conclusion
This add-on is one of the many extensions offered by Chrome in order to make your Web Browsing and page editing go silky smooth.
